When liquid de-icing agents are applied, the melting action can start immediately because the de-icing effect is only achieved in connection with moisture. It is possible to use liquid de-icing agents to cover large areas and to apply them evenly. In contrast to the use of granular de-icing agents, a punctual ice melting action is eliminated. The quantity of de-icing agent applied is significantly lowered.

De-icing agents in granules that have not completely dissolved are often carried over into adjacent areas, liquid de-icing agents cling less to shoes and tyres, and contamination is therefore reduced.

It is also possible to use liquid de-icing agents for the treatment of areas where de-icing agents in granules can’t be employed such as on steeply sloping surfaces, gratings or machines and vehicles that have to be defrosted.
